Academy

The Academy continues to go from strength to strength with the college / apprenticeship courses now firmly established and first run of both internal and external courses getting great reactions.

Thanks to all our barbers who have stepped up already to help out with the education. Special mention to Sean, Aaron and Edita for managing a tough Italian crowd!

MR Courses

We have the following internal courses available in Jan at the Cambridge Academy. Courses are £75 per head (normally £150). Get in touch with education@mrbarbers.co.uk for more information

Wet Shave Day – 6th January

Fade Day – 29th January

Refresher Day – 9th January

If there is an area of barbering you would really like to improve on, please get in touch and we can set up special courses to help.


MR Experience Day – Barber for a Day

We will be holding a series of fun days for people to experience what it is like to be a barber and to get to learn the basics of Clipper and Scissor work. If you have any customers / friends who might be interested get them to contact education@mrbarbers.co.uk.

The one day course costs £150, all equipment and lunch provided.

Course dates: January 12th, January 23rd, February 6th, March 3rd, March 27th.


Drugs, Alcohol, Mental Illness and Depression

All of us have been touched at one point in our lives by one of the above, this time of year, more so than any other.

We want to be here to help and there will be a big focus from us in 2019 to support our barbers and our customers who are struggling. We are setting up a working group to explore the best ways to help, if you are interested in getting involved please contact paul@mrbarbers.co.uk.


Competitions 

Congratulations Jak Finch for getting into the BBA Hall of Fame for the second year! Well deserved.

Boxing Barbers

We had two mighty Warriors step into the ring this month. Well done to Paul Cook and George Martin for braving the rings and doing MR proud!

 


St Neots

MR Barbers is coming to ST Neots. The fit out is under way and the new shop should be open in January.

 


Braintree is Moving!

After the great success of the Braintree shop, Ashton is coming on board as co-owner and we will be moving next door to a much bigger unit. Doors should open in Feb. Welcome aboard Ashton!

 


Charity Work

We are so pleased to announce that in 2019 we will be partnering with Macmillan Cancer Support to raise in excess of £20,000 for this great charity. We will be holding a series of events across all the shops. If you would like to get involved or have any ideas on money raising events, please get in touch.


Movember 

On a very gold day in November, Jez, Yucel, Jayden and Maria travelled down to Canary Wharf to help out the Movember team. Some great moustaches and some very cold hands!

Ashley took to the town in November to promote the MR Brand across Loughton.

Loughton Music Night

Well done Charlie Longman for organising a great live music night at the MR Barbers Loughton. Great turn out and fantastic way of getting new customers aware of the shop.
